Golden Retriever Sees a Firetruck for the First Time and Her Reaction Is Priceless
While some dogs might be intimidated by the lights and sirens of a fire truck, Posi is not. This sweet 1-year-old Golden Retriever was more than ready to join the team and head out to whatever emergency they were responding to.
Talk about perfect timing. As Posi and her parents were walking through the city, an emergency call came in for the local fire department. As the truck pulled away, the Golden Retriever was completely enthralled by the action. The pup's mom posted the encounter to TikTok, and of course, the dog's eagerness to help didn't go unnoticed.

With more than 72k views, Posi's wooing at the fire truck made for an adorable video. As the siren wailed, the pup quickly turned around to catch a glimpse of the truck as it drove away. She was as excited as a toddler watching a parade. In fact, if you look closely toward the end of the video, you can see someone holding a toddler who was waving at the firefighters as they drove away.

The wonder in her eyes quickly turned into loud Golden woos, and it was clear she was cheering on the firefighters as they headed off to whatever emergency needed their attention.
Why Do Dogs Howl When They Hear Sirens?
There are several reasons dogs howl when they hear sirens. PetMD reports that the most common explanation is communication. Dogs may mistake a siren for another animal's howl and respond instinctively, as part of their normal canine behavior. Although that appears to be the case for Posi in this video, a dog may howl for other reasons, such as stress, excitement, or even separation anxiety.
Several followers chimed in with comments like, "As a first responder, my heart melts when I see a dog imitating an emergency vehicle," and "As a 30-year volunteer firefighter, we understand her perfectly!"
Posi's reaction to the fire truck was so pure and heartwarming to watch. We can't wait to see what this sweet pup discovers next.
