Maintenance work on the Caldecott Tunnel will cause Caltrans to close the second bore of the tunnel going eastbound Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The tunnel on Highway 24 will be closed at 10 p.m. and re-open at 4:30 a.m. Caltrans said workers will be facilitating a sampling of drainpipe cement, collecting watersludge and doing other routine maintenance.

At least one bore of the tunnels will remain open in each direction during the closure.

Overnight motorists were advised to expect delays and to drive with caution.
