Son of WCW Legend and WWE Hall of Famer Sting Announces Wrestling Debut

The son of arguably the greatest professional wrestler in history will make his debut on Sunday.

On Monday, the Rhodes Wrestling Association announced that Garrett Borden, the son of WCW icon and WWE Hall of Famer Sting (real name Steve Borden), will debut on Sunday in Leander, Texas.

Garrett will face off against Brandon Barretta at the Final Reckoning event. The Rhodes Wrestling Association is run by professional wrestler Dustin Rhodes, also known as Goldust during his tenure in WWE.

Sting and his ex-wife, Sue, have three children: Daughter Gracie and sons Garrett and Steven Jr. The latter made his wrestling debut at Awesome Championship Wrestling on Oct. 3 in Manhattan.

Sting Retired From Wrestling in 2024

It's not a stretch to argue that Sting is the greatest wrestler in professional wrestling history. He helped put WCW on the map in the '90s, playing an instrumental role in the Monday Night Wars with WWE.

Sting, a six-time World Heavyweight Champion in WCW, remained loyal to the company until the very end. He was there until the company was bought out by WWE in 2021, before moving on to the new TNA promotion in 2002.

Though TNA never seriously challenged WWE, Sting was pivotal in helping the company develop a giant global audience. He won four TNA World Heavyweight Championships and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2012.

His tenure in WWE left a lot to be desired, but it said a lot that the company honored him with a Hall of Fame induction in 2016 anyway. Sting returned to in-ring competition for AEW in 2020, retiring four years later.
