It's no secret that crows are clever birds, but one unlucky dog discovered just how smart and mischievous these animals can be. Last year, a Los Angeles pup named Jack was relaxing in his yard when a crow swooped down to steal one of his squeaky toys. The wild bird proceeded to taunt him from the roof of a neighbor's house, squeaking the toy again and again, and it didn't take long before a summer-long animal rivalry was born.

And now, an entire year later-the crow is back! The TikTok account recounting this infamous rivalry, @crowvsjack, posted again on May 6 after almost a year-long hiatus, and their fans couldn't be happier to see this hilarious relationship rekindled. Some things truly never change.

It's a rivalry over a year in the making! This funny bird video may be entertaining, but for Jack, the taunting is all too real. Luckily, he's spoiled with more dog toys than he knows what to do with, so he can always get the last laugh whenever the crow returns to stir up drama.

"One year later?" one viewer commented in disbelief. "I knew I read crows could remember things, but this is just petty AF." Jack couldn't agree more! Last year, he seemed amused by the naughty bird, but this year, he means business.

Commenters can't get over "the fact that you can hear the crow squeaking the toy from the roof." Clearly, the crow isn't messing around, either! It must have left the toy on one of the neighbors' roofs while migrating for the rest of the year, but now that it's back, it's resumed its full-time job of messing with Jack.

How Smart Are Crows?

Birds and their relatives, known as corvids, are among the smartest birds in the world. These animals can use tools, learn behaviors from one another, and even understand humor. For a crow, stealing a dog toy is practically child's play!

Anyone who feeds crows will learn quickly that these birds remember everything. They'll return to the same spot to ask for food, and they may even leave a thank-you gift in return. We may not understand exactly how crows retain so much information, but anyone can appreciate these birds and their impressive memories...even if they sometimes use them for chaos.
