Fox Cancels First Show of 2026: 'Going Dutch' Ends After Just 2 Seasons
In just one week, Fox is unveiling its 2026-27 lineup of shows during its upfront presentation on Monday, May 11.
Unfortunately for the cast and crew of one show, they won't be running it back for another season. On Monday, May 4, Deadline reported Fox opted to cancel Going Dutch after just two seasons.
'Going Dutch' Wasn't Hit at Fox
Going Dutch was the lowest-rated entertainment program at Fox, according to Deadline. Headliner Denis Leary is well liked internally, so a renewal was under consideration initially, but ultimately, the network decided not to proceed with a third season.
The show centers on the arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Leary), who - after an epically unfiltered rant - is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least strategic army base in the world.
"Surrounded by a diverse group of military misfits, the colonel tries to reinstate discipline and professionalism with the help of the base's previous interim leader, who just happens to be his estranged daughter, Captain Maggie Quinn (Taylor Misiak)," Deadline wrote.
What's Next for Fox?
While Going Dutch won't be back for another season, Fox has a large contingent of animated series returning next season including a Stewie spinoff from Family Guy.
Best Medicine and Animal Control have also been greenlighted for new seasons while Fox made the decision to bring back the Patrick Dempey-ledMemory of a Killer for a second season as well. The return of Fear Factor with Fear Factor: House of Fear is also set for another season.
