It's an incredible feat that has captured many hearts during annual show dog competitions. Generally, the winners of dog agility competitions are Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, or even pint-sized Papillons. But in this clip, we get to watch an absolute master take on a hurdle, and he's an... English Bulldog. You read that right! This big Bulldog has taken TikTok by storm with his amazing hops. He leaps over his baby gate, presumably placed there to prevent him from leaving. It looks like Mom shouldn't have taught him how to jump!

The comments were filled with other Bulldog parents, most of whom were detailing their own pets' behaviors. @rebekahmcintosh8 quipped, "That is impressive. Mine struggles getting onto the couch." So many of our buds do. "Can almost hear the 'boing boing,'" @evanrangas added.

We absolutely loved what @Jonathan asked, "Just one question: English Bulldog or English Bullfrog?" It's certainly rare to see a Bulldog who can leap like this. Finally, @lifeofcharl had the right idea, "You got the sports mode Bulldog." Someone's had to be!

Agility and the English Bulldog: How To Safely Support High-Impact Exercise

Any dog who does agility needs to exercise carefully and work up to new tricks, just like a human. That becomes even more important for a stocky beauty like an English Bulldog. It's crucial to work at your pup's speed and play into their strengths. This breed won't be winning any marathons, but they love to do quick tricks, like the one in this video.

As Plato Pet describes them, "Bulldogs are known for their tenacity, and when they are in the mood, they can be wonderfully focused. The key is recognizing that their version of agility often comes in joyful bursts. Instead of expecting long, intense workouts, think in terms of short sessions filled with praise, breaks, and meaningful rewards." They particularly recommend short training sessions with lots of water breaks in cool weather. You definitely want to blast the AC during your Bulldog's agility training.

The American Kennel Club also notes that improving core strength makes a huge difference for canine athletes, and it's especially important to avoid knee injuries. Incorporating activities like wobble boards is helpful overall. In this case, we hope this big guy keeps practicing his jumps, safely, of course.
