'Legend of Zelda' Fans Will Love This New Nintendo Switch Game

The Legend of Zelda isn't a series that goes a long time between games. Nintendo is pretty consistent in giving fans a new entry every two or three years in some capacity. There are so many different types of games in the series, though, that it can be a very long time until your favorite genre of Zelda returns to your living room.

Enter the indie gaming scene where small developers are crafting incredible experiences that are inspired by the games of their childhoods. The latest game that Legend of Zelda fans might just get obsessed with on the Nintendo Switch is Elementallis.

Beautiful pixelated graphics that resemble both the SNES and the Game Boy will transport gamers back to the 1990s and 2000s. Top-down gameplay that looks like A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons gives the game a wonderful retro feel.

Instead of items like swords and shields and hookshots, it looks like most of the fighting and puzzle-solving in the game will utilize the protagonist's ability to wield the elements of nature. Fire, water, wind, lightning, and more will be on full display.

There is obviously no shortage of Zelda imitators on the Switch. Blossom Tales is one of the first classic-inspired titles that comes to mind, while Tunic has more modern graphics and mechanics. Both games are major homages to the Zelda of decades ago.

The Switch and Switch 2 don't have a lot of major AAA releases coming in the next couple of months. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is coming on May 21. That game will highlight a month of May that is more reliant on indie releases yet again. These creative games are awesome outlets for gamers who are sick of the more expensive and repetitive titles.
