After fires set at Ontario Mills mall, one store remains closed

More than two weeks after 12 fires were set inside multiple stores at Ontario Mills mall, at least one of those stores remains closed with no reopening date announced.

True Religion Brand Jeans, a California-based clothing company, remains closed at the Ontario mall with its windows blacked out.

The store is listed on the mall's website as temporarily closed. Mall management has not been able to provide any information on a reopening after several inquiries in recent days. Representatives for True Religion also could not be reached for comment Monday, April 27.

Directly next door to the clothing store is Helzburg Diamond Outlet. The two stores share a wall, and while it appeared Thursday, April 23 that Helzburg Diamonds Outlet was being renovated, it was unclear if the renovations had been planned or are fire-related.

Helzbug Diamonds, a Kansas City-based company, could not be reached for comment.

The fires were set inside those stores on April 10, and 28-year-old Rancho Cucamonga resident Luis Javier Gallegos Jr. was arrested and charged with 16 felony counts, including arson. He is accused of setting four fires at Nordstrom Rack, three at Marshalls, three at True Religion and two at The North Face, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.

The other three stores - Marshalls, The North Face, and Nordstrom Rack - have all reopened.
