At one point, the bird pecked at the camera and stayed in the frame until he eventually left. In the background of the video, the couple could be heard laughing as they watched it back on their phone.
In the text overlay, the woman wrote, "the time we set up our camera to capture our proposal and we watched it back." She added in the caption, "In honor of getting married next year, I had to bring back this clip, it's too good ."
In the comments, the woman also clarified that, "this was us immediately after he proposed, he didn't do it standing up ."

The surprising moment went viral online, with the video gaining over 1 million likes and over 6 million views on TikTok.
People online couldn't get enough of the hilarious, candid moment, joking that the bird was most likely "very happy for you two" despite the unexpected interruption.
In fact, this isn't the first time a seagull or another bird crashed a couple's special moment. Plenty of users in the comments shared their own experiences and included photos of birds getting into the shots of their proposals as well.
"I will forever remember the bird that also photobombed my proposal," one user shared, and also included a photo of a bird flying in between them. "Omg no experience is unique indeed ," another person said. "This was also my proposal," which also included another bird staring at the camera during their moment.
Others shared that the seagull should be included in the upcoming wedding, with one commenter suggesting, "You need to have a little tiny seagull figurine somewhere on your cake," and another adding, "Ask him to officiate the wedding."
"I actually LOVE this," another commenter wrote. "I'd find a way to represent the bird's role in the wedding, even if just a nod to that screenshot of the bird just posted somewhere or framed on a table ."
