Guard dogs are a vital part of so many lives. They help keep families and farms safe. Without them, who knows what would happen to the ones they protect? There's no better breed for that than the Great Pyrenees.

Most of the time, anyway. There's one Great Pyrenees who certainly makes a great guard dog... If you're a mail carrier. He loves to eat the packages, apparently, and no one wants to mess with him. Just look at him! That's a polar bear:

I deliver hundreds of packages a week and run into all kinds of animals. Welcome too. "Are you friendly series" . Meet Hank areyoufriendly

Apparently, Living With Rach includes delivering hundreds of packages a week. She sees all kinds of animals, from dogs to cats and probably even some farm friends here and there. Hank really takes the cake, though.

His mom put a note in the delivery instructions that clearly states that Hank eats packages, according to a comment between her and Hank's mom, who found the TikTok. There was even a picture of him eating packages on the inside of the door!

This is the first time she's ever delivered to Hank's house, but hopefully, it won't be the last. For now, though, she's visiting other dogs, including this big boy:

I love this "Are You Friendly" series. In my heart, every dog is secretly friendly!

Keeping Dogs Safe Around Delivery Drivers

Friendly or not, when it comes to allowing dogs around delivery drivers, it's important to be mindful. They're people doing their job: they might not want to interact with your dog, even if they're friendly as can be.

If you have a dog and you get a lot of delivery drivers, you should:

  • Keep them separated, such as by a fence or gate.
  • Post a sign that says "beware of dog," or you could get one that mentions they're friendly.
  • Mention them in the delivery instructions so the driver knows what to expect.

Proper training is important, too: a properly trained dog won't run up on a driver and scare them. If you're not sure, it's best to be cautious and keep the dog away! Luckily, though, Hank is a friendly boy... Though a hungry one.
