This Goose Ignores 80 MPH Winds Like a Tiny Storm Chaser

The chickens had a plan.

A smart one.

A weather-appropriate one.

They were tucked safely inside the coop, hiding from the pounding rain like sensible little citizens who understood that sometimes the best response to chaos is simply staying dry.

And then there was the goose.

In the video, the camera starts on the chicken coop, where the chickens are doing exactly what you would expect during an absolute downpour. Then it pans to the right, and there he is, just standing out in the rain like he personally asked for this weather event. Not hurrying. Not sheltering. Not reconsidering his choices. Just planted there in the storm with the kind of confidence usually reserved for people who own all-terrain jackets and call bad weather "refreshing."

It's already hilarious before the sound kicks in.

But then the clip uses audio from Forrest Gump, the part where Lieutenant Dan is out there battling the storm, and suddenly the whole thing becomes art. Real cinema. The contrast is so ridiculous and so perfect that it takes the video from funny to unforgettable. One comment says, " Love the sound choice " and honestly, yes. Exactly. Whoever paired that soundtrack with this goose understood the assignment on a spiritual level.

That's what makes the whole thing work so well. The chickens are hiding like normal creatures with instincts. The goose, meanwhile, looks like he's entered his final form. He's not bothered by the rain. He's not enduring the storm. He's thriving in it. If anything, he seems mildly disappointed that it's not raining harder.

And that's why geese are so funny. They carry themselves with this weird, fearless certainty, no matter how absurd the situation is. A storm strong enough to send everyone else running for cover just becomes a dramatic backdrop for this one bird to live his truth.

I love animal videos like this because they remind you how wildly different personalities can be, even in the same yard. One species says absolutely not. Another says this is my moment. And honestly, the goose kind of wins just by sheer commitment.

The shot, the timing, the soundtrack, the refusal to seek shelter-it all comes together in the dumbest, funniest, most glorious way.

This isn't just a goose in bad weather.

This is a goose in a character arc.

Animals React to Weather in Their Own, Very Specific Ways

As funny as this is, it's also a good reminder that different animals handle weather differently, and not always as humans expect. Some will seek shelter right away, while others seem determined to stand out in the drama for reasons no one can fully explain. The Humane World for Animals offers animal care resources that are a good reminder that safe shelter, dry space, and close monitoring matter during severe weather, even when an animal seems personally committed to making things theatrical.

Honestly, this goose looked like he had been waiting all year for his big weather monologue.
