They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, that village is even stronger if it includes a vigilant dog.

In a super-funny TikTok video, a Golden Retriever named Toffee seems to believe she's doing the lion's share of the baby-minding, and she's got some serious thoughts about that.

Take a look at this gorgeous Golden Retriever whose side-eye truly says it all!

"Nothing humbles you like a dog judging your parenting," this Golden and toddler's family captions the photo, adding, "Wait for the look."

And, oof, that look is no joke!!! This pooch has some strong opinions on child-rearing, for sure! She's none too pleased that this tot is scampering away without a parent or caregiver following close behind.

As another caption notes, "This is Toffee's baby, no doubt about it."

Aw, we love that Toffee is so caring and concerned. Much better to have your pup love your baby than wish they were the "only child" in the family.

Naturally, viewers had plenty to say about Toffee's epic expression.

"Are you parenting or is one (that) more job that I have to do?" ," one person wrote.

"This is hilarious parenting judgment ," another commented.

"The look of judgment and disappointment... then guess I have to do everything around here. I got her... ," a third said.

How To Help Foster a Bond Between Kids and Pets

We love to see Toffee so involved with this little one because there are times when pets may not want a new family member taking up that coveted attention.

So, how can you foster a good relationship between children and pets? It's important to teach children to be gentle and respectful from day one. Establishing good habits, such as not interrupting them while they're eating or sleeping and not teasing them with toys, can go a long way toward building trust.

As tempting as it is to hug a pet, making a slow approach and letting a pet sniff a child's hand before a cuddle or embrace is another good way to begin.

In this case, it looks like Toffee and this tot are already fast friends, with Toffee looking out for the little one's safety. We love to see it!
