The upcoming months are huge for Cristiano Ronaldo.

His club, Al-Nassr, is in pole position to win the Saudi Pro League with just 5 matches remaining. They are also in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League tournament.

His country, Portugal, is one of the favorites in the upcoming World Cup in June. Despite Portugal's depth of young talent, the 41-year-old Ronaldo is slated to be a major contributor to the squad.

He is also in hot pursuit of scoring 1,000 career goals, a feat thought to be impossible by most. He currently sits at 969.

But perhaps most important to him is the news that broke today. Cristiano Ronaldo may have an opportunity to play with his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., next season at Al-Nassr. Cristiano Jr. turns 16 in June, and the club believes he could earn a spot on the senior squad.

Whether he gets playing time for Al-Nassr or not, it's a great opportunity to gain experience in training. Surely there will be a moment where both Junior and Senior share the pitch during a game, even if it's just ceremonial.

One can't help but compare this to LeBron James and his son Bronny both playing for the Lakers. Coincidentally, LeBron is also 41 years old.

There's not too much intel on Cristiano Jr.'s talents as a prospect. He has appeared for Portugal's youth squads on a number of occasions, even scoring multiple goals in a match against Croatia. But beyond that, it's hard to say what his ceiling as a player is.

What is certain, though, is that the storyline writes itself. A father and son, sharing the same pitch, the same jersey, and the same last name that carries the weight of a legacy unlike any other in football history. While it's unfair to call it a passing of the torch, Ronaldo and Ronaldo Jr. standing side-by-side would be a proud moment for CR7.
