It's a Grind coffee chain opens first North Bay store in Santa Rosa Plaza

A Southern California-based coffee company has opened a new location in Santa Rosa Plaza, bringing the cafe chain to the North Bay.

It's a Grind Coffee House announced its new location is open in the mall, serving espresso drinks, teas, smoothies and lemonades as well as some new breakfast and lunch food options. It is the first store based in the region following the coffee company's growth into the East Bay Area, including in Pleasanton and San Leandro.

The cafe is located by the mall's B Street entrance downtown. Store owner Harshdeep Walia said the store opened April 3 and a grand opening event will take place within the next few weeks.

"Ownership is also poised to expand further, with additional locations planned as part of a broader regional rollout," Walia said. "While the brand stays true to its coffee roots, the modern concept reflects evolving customer demand, with an expanded menu that includes breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, quesadillas and other quick, savory offerings - positioning the space as more than a coffee stop, but a go-to for morning and mid-day meals."

Jackie Garcia, director of marketing and business development for Santa Rosa Plaza, called It's a Grind "an exciting addition" to the mall.

"We're always looking for ways to enhance the everyday experience for our guests, and this new café adds a fresh, convenient option for shoppers to take a break, grab a coffee and spend time together," Garcia said. "It's a great example of how we're continuing to evolve the brand mix at the center in ways that resonate with our community."

It's a Grind launched in 1994 in Long Beach and sources its beans globally, roasting in small batches in Southern California. The company has multiple locations in California, including in the Sacramento region. It also recently expanded internationally to Malaysia, Brunei and the United Arab Emirates.
