Mumford & Sons founder opens new bar in LA's Chinatown

L.A.’s Chinatown has a new bar opening its doors and it's backed by a member of a famous folk indie band.

Grammy Award-winning musician Ben Lovett, one of the founders of the band Mumford & Sons, has opened a bar dubbed Mitsi at 1737 Naud St.

"After years of touring, this city gave me more than shows and late nights - it gave me connection. Mitsi is a love letter to LA and the creative people who make it what it is, a place that feels elevated without ever being intimidating, where inclusivity isn't just a concept, and where people feel comfortable enough to return again and again," Lovett said in a statement.

The new bar features 110 indoor and outdoor seats and serves cocktails that include a Rosé Martini with house-made rosé cordial, a mezcal and coconut Junglebird drink and a Paloma with tequila, aperol, watermelon radish, and passionfruit. Also on the drink menu are wine, beer, and sake plus mocktails.

Food options include nigiri and sashimi dishes, bluefin tuna, hamachi, halibut and shareable plates.
