Pit Bull Won't Get in the Bath Until Her Song Comes On
Bath time with dogs can be a challenge, especially for pups who aren't exactly thrilled about getting soaped up. As a mom of a severe allergy dog, we do it twice a week, so I've learned to save his favorite treats for right before we head in.
But every dog has their own routine.
For Zara, the Pit Bull, that means her tune. She likes to have her disco jam playing before getting into the tub. And considering music sets the mood for us, whether it's yacht rock by the water, a high-energy workout playlist, or a road trip soundtrack, it's not all that surprising that our dogs respond to it too.
But it's her song choice that makes this one even better.

Before her "car wash" song came on, Zara didn't look all that interested in bath time. But the second those first notes hit, she hopped right in, taking her time and waiting for the lyrics to start. Clearly, she just needed a little hype before getting washed up.
Her mom even has a custom version just for her, singing "Zar wash" as Zara leans in for kisses. She clearly knows the routine and is fully here for it.

Viewers had a lot to say about it.
@Rayne wrote, "Could you imagine explaining this to a dog sitter? I would die of laughter." Considering some things I've had to explain to dog sitters, it could be worse.
@Coopa shared, "My Pit Bull gets very upset if we don't put Doctor Phil on for her in the morning. Pit bulls are weird." Weird, wonderful, and very smart.
@KellyLynn added, "I sing OutKast's ‘So Fresh, So Clean' when I wash my dogs. They are not amused." Ha! In my house, once bath time is over, I break into Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" before toweling off my Burton. And yes, he knows exactly when to shake.

Bath time can be stressful for dogs who don't love water, but routines like this can make a big difference. When they know what to expect, it feels a little less overwhelming and a lot more manageable for everyone involved.
And when your dog has a favorite song to go with it, even something like bath time becomes a little more fun.
