Hardwood floors are gorgeous and can feel very polished (literally). But bare floors can also feel a bit stark and a bit echoey until you drop an area rug in. Then it's almost like the room breathes easier. It doesn't have to be expensive or oversized to make an impact either. Sometimes it's that slightly vintage-looking piece tucked under a coffee table or beside a bed that gives a space its personality.

It's actually pretty impressive how big of an impact a small rug can make. These are the pieces that tell your eye where to land. They also soften things, warm things up and make everything around it look a little more cohesive. However area rugs can get expensive, so it's a real treat to find one that's affordable, pretty and, wait for it, washable.

Washable Rug - 2' x 3', $7 at Five Below

Five Below delivers on some really great home decor finds, like this Washable Rug for just $7. It has a vintage-inspired, almost antiqued motif in a dusty pink that could honestly pose almost as a neutral because it complements so many different colors.

You might be thinking, "But 2' x 3'? That's so small." A 2' x 3' rug is small, but that's kind of its superpower-it's more about moments than coverage. It works best in those in-between spots where you want a little softness and visual definition without committing to a full, huge rug situation.

One of the most common uses is right by a bed, especially on one side where your feet land first thing in the morning. It takes the edge off cold floors in a really subtle way. It's also great in front of a kitchen sink where you're standing in one spot for longer than you realize. That small bit of cushioning goes a long way. Plus, it adds style.

Personally, I like this size rug in front of my washer and dryer. It just provides a hint of decor to my super small laundry room and brings more comfort as I'm standing there folding clothes. And, because it's washable, I don't have to go far to throw it in the machine, do I? Perfection.
