Everyone needs a break, and there's nothing better than an extended vacation-but Waffles the cat wants his parents home and right now!

In a YouTube Short posted by the Golden Breakfast Club, he let his preferred human and the spare know how he felt right away after they returned home from their two-week vacation, and the retaliation was sassy.

"The humans committed the ultimate betrayal," the video caption says as we see Waffles stalking around the suitcase while ignoring his parents' entreaties to join them upstairs.

The video goes on to show how Waffles' parents set him up with a pet sitter while they were gone. This, as it turns out, was hardly a substitute.

Waffles' dog sister, Maple, meanwhile, got to stay at her best friend's house while her humans were away, and she had a much happier time.

"Waffles has plenty to say when we got home," the video continues, showing Waffles coming down the stairs with a lot of meows upon their arrival.

We watch as Waffles "begrudgingly" accepts hugs from his dad (aka the spare), but after some time pouting, Waffles gave in and wanted all the hugs in the world. He even walks around "yowling" whenever mom leaves the room he's in.

Maple, of course, was just happy to have everyone together again.

How Long Can Cats Go Unattended?

People often say it's much easier to take care of a cat, specifically because they can be left unattended much longer than a dog.

Cats don't need to leave the house to use the restroom and can fend for themselves when given an overabundance of food, but it's still important not to leave your cat unattended for more than 48 hours. Actually, experts say it's best not to exceed 24 hours without checking in, as cats can develop anxiety when left alone for too long, just like dogs and other animals.

Kittens, especially those under 6 months old, need extra care and shouldn't be left alone for more than a few hours. Senior cats also need more care and check-ins.

If you are leaving your cat unattended for a day or two, it's best to ensure your cat has multiple sources of clean drinking water, a clean litter box and plenty of dry food or an automatic feeder.

Just like Waffles' parents, it's best practice to have a friend, loved one or pet sitter check in on your cat daily, making sure they have a clean, healthy supply of litter, food and water. Plus, pet sitters can give your cat loving attention in your stead.

Waffles' parents did everything right, but we all know there is no substitute for your real humans!
