At first, Barley had no idea what he had stumbled upon. He caught a shark on his line as he was fishing, and when he tried to reel it in, the shark ate right through it. Barley drove further into the water on his jet ski, hoping that he would be able to spot the shark again and take some videos of it. However, he didn't find just that shark. He found many hungry sharks.

Pretty soon, Barley realized that he was surrounded. In this footage, many shark fins and tails can be seen thrashing about in the water as a shocked and terrified Barley cries out, "Oh, my word! Look at them!" According to the report, these sharks were feeding on baitfish.

Barley identified them as spinner sharks and said that, as many of them as might be visible on the surface, it's likely that there are far more of them below. He was able to get away because he remained relatively calm and drove away from the feeding frenzy.
