Cerebral palsy group plans fundraiser
United Cerebral Palsy of Central California will hold the Walk and Roll event 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 15 at Chukchansi Park, 1800 Tulare St. Proceeds will benefit programs and services for people of all ages with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism and developmental disabilities. There is no cost to attend.

Democratic women to meet candidates
Fresno County Democratic Women’s Club will conduct a meet and greet with 2016 endorsed candidates 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at the FCDWC Headquarters, 1035 U St. Meet with Kamala Harris, Jim Costa, Joaquin Arambula and others. For details call 559-486-5422
The FCDWC will also hold their October monthly meeting 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Ramada Inn, 324 E. Shaw Ave. The Honorable Dezie Woods-Jones will speak on “Life Experiences Matter.” She is the founder and state president of Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA). The luncheon costs $20 or $5 for the program only.

Armenian conservancy to host banquet
Armenian Cultural Conservancy will host a banquet at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at Fresno City College East Quad, 1101 E. University Ave. Dr. Matthew Ari Jendian is the keynote speaker and Deborah Adishian-Astone will be the master of ceremonies. Tickets cost $50 and checks can be mailed to ACC, 2930 N. Retired Employees award scholarships
Retired Employees of Fresno County awarded three $2,000 scholarships to Fresno State students: Carrie McAnulty, nursing major; Selene Oaks, speech pathology major; and Randi Parkinson, child development major.
Clovis West Class of ‘86 to meet

Benefit pasta meal set for Oct. 17
Clovis Sons of Italy will hold a homestyle pasta fest dinner 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 17 at Notre Dame Hall, 333 Eighth St. in Clovis. Dinner costs $15 or $7.50 for children and proceeds will benefit the Valley Children’s Hospital Library, the Fresno Food Bank and other local charities.
