Fire near I-5 burns around 1,700 acres
A grass fire in Merced County burned around 1,700 acres of land on Wednesday.
As of Thursday morning the fire near Interstate 5 and West Nees Avenue south of Los Banos was at 80 percent contained.
Fire Captain Chris Moyle of Cal Fire said that the progress of the fire had been stopped by crews and that no injuries or structure damage was reported.
