Jana Kramer Defends Adam Sandler for Officiating Taylor and Travis' Wedding

Jana Kramer is coming to Adam Sandler's defense for officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.

"I will say [on] the Adam Sandler piece of things, I met him a million years ago," the actress, 42, recalled on the Friday, July 10, episode of her "Whine Down" podcast on iHeartRadio. "I did that movie Click with him, because everyone was like, ‘Oh, that's an interesting choice.'"

Kramer explained that while Sandler, 59, is best known for his comedic persona on screen, he differs behind the scenes.

"A lot of comedians you think they're going to be these very outwardly kind of crazy and wild, [and] he was so soft spoken," she said. "You know what I mean? Sweet and quiet."

The One Tree Hill alum shared that Sandler completely surprised her.

"I remember watching him on set and just being like, ‘Wow.' I always envisioned Adam Sandler as like Happy Gilmore," she recalled referring to Sandler's iconic boisterous character from the film of the same name.

Kramer added that Sandler is "very intentional when he speaks and I feel like I've seen that."

She also spoke about how Sandler has maintained a sweet friendship with Jennifer Aniston over the years and how he always puts his family first. (The comedian has been married to wife Jackie Sandler since 2003 and the couple share daughters Sadie, 20, and Sunny, 17.)

After thinking about his close bonds with his loved ones, Kramer explained that she can see why the Billy Madison star was the perfect person to officiate Swift and Kelce's nuptials.

"It almost does make sense to me now because he does have that sentimental [personality] like he's just such a sweet man," she said. "He really is, and he's a good man. So I could see him being really funny, but then also really grounded and sentimental."

When Swift and Kelce tied the knot last week at Madison Square Garden, it was revealed that Adam officiated the ceremony. Prior to the wedding, Adam maintained a close bond with Swift and Kelce, both 36. The Kansas City Chiefs player had a small role in Adam's movie Happy Gilmore 2. Adam also appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce's "New Heights" podcast where he revealed his entire Sandler family are certified Swifties.

"Taylor in our house, every tune, they knew every word," the Just Go With It star shared at the time. "I loved listening to her in the car. I love what she had to say, every message, every melody, just the production, how cool she was, what she meant to young girls, what she means to women, what she means to guys doing the right thing in life."
