When it comes to local music for the week ahead, one size (or genre) does not fit all.

There’s mosh-pit metal at Fulton 55; electronic dance music at the Crest Theatre; Mexican rancheras, cumbia (and rock) at Save Mart Center and a country concert kickoff at the Clovis Rodeo and that’s just the best bets.

It’s called choice, and it’s a good thing to have.

Make America metal again

The event: Devil You Know sets out to make America metal again. That’s the name of the Los Angeles band’s current U.S. tour; Devil You Know will be in town Friday, April 15.

The draw: Devil You Know is the collaboration of ex-Killswitch Engaged singer Howard Jones, All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato and John Sankey, drummer for the Australian band Devolved (and also Fear Factory). The band’s second album, “They Bleed Red” was released on Nuclear Blast Records in November.

It is a heavier, meatier album than the band’s debut, influenced by the band’s live performances, Jones says.

“After playing the songs on the first album live, I just wanted heavier songs in the set,” he says.

Details: 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, Fulton 55, 875 Divisadero St. $17-$20. 559-412-7400, www.fulton55.com

Peace of Earth

The event: The Crest Theatre hosts Peace on Earth, the first in a series of fundraiser concerts to help restore the historic theater’s neon marquee.

The draw: This is an electronic dance music extravaganza with artists from across the spectrum of EDM — from trance and house to trap and hardstyle. Think light show and lasers, go-go dancers and (free) glow sticks; plus nine local and regional DJs, including SKJY (with Project Underground), DJ Jeanettey, DJ LS (from the EDM Junkies), Johnny Bhoy, Saphex, Lë Bëk, Skizzy (Project Underground), The Master Beaterz and AMD. This event is for those 16 years old and up.

Details: 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, the Crest Theatre, 1170 Broadway Plaza. $15-$40. Text 559-930-1374, www.facebook.com/fresnocrest

The voice of Mexico

The event: Grammy-winner Mexican singer Pepe Aguilar plays Fresno’s Save Mart Center.

The draw: Aguilar is the sound of modern Mexican music, almost by birth. The 47-year-old singer is the son of Mexican music icons Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre. His work over the past two decades has incorporated regional rancheras and banda music, with cumbia and the rock and pop fusion of earliest influences – bands like Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd. His album “Pepe Aguilar: MTV Unplugged,” was Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin album charts (and nominated for a Latin Grammy) in 2014. His latest single, “Maria” was released in February.

Aguilar came through Fresno in 2009, playing Selland Arena on a double bill with Marco Antonio Solis.

Details: 8 p.m Sunday, April 17, at the Save Mart Center. $54-$125. 800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com

Clovis rodeo kick-off

The event: Country upstart Jerrod Niemann kicks off nightly entertainment for the 102nd Clovis Rodeo with a concert Thursday, April 21.

The draw: If Niemann needs some “rodeo cred” there’s this:

“I randomly own a rodeo bull,” says the Kansas-born singer and songwriter, who local fans last saw at the Warnors Theatre in 2013.

It’s a prize winner, named High Noon, after Niemann’s 2014 album. The bull has earned $100,000 in his career, which the singer donated to charity.

Niemann has plenty of country-music cred. The 36-year-old is among a group of young, upcoming country stars like Lee Brice, Tyler Farr and Luke Bryan who all seem to be friends and hang out, tour together and share songs. For instance, the single, “Little More Love,” features a duet between Niemann and Brice. While the pair has performed the song in concert, it has yet to get an official release. As a solo performer, Niemann has had a string of hits on Billboard’s Hot Country and Country Airplay charts, including the No. 1 song “Lover, Love.” He’s also written songs for Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton. Any success, he says, was a long time coming. It took him a decade and three record deals to get a song on the charts.

Details: 6:30 p.m., performance April 21 following rodeo contest. Clovis Rodeo Grounds, 748 Rodeo Drive, Clovis. $25. 559-299-5203, www.clovisrodeo.com
