While the date has been set for a few months now, we finally get a first look at the lineup for this year’s Grizzly Fest.

Reggae-fusion band Slightly Stoopid will headline the event, which takes place May 7 at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno. Tickets for the all-day concert cost $25 and go on sale 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Prices rise to $35 the following week.

Slightly Stoopid was signed to Brad Nowell’s Skunk Records in 1996 and for 20 years has carried the seeds planted by Nowell’s band, Sublime. While Slightly Stoopid has obvious reggae influences, the band is known for incorporating an eclectic mix of styles, including funk, hip-hop and metal. The group releases music via its own Stoopid Records, which is also home to the West Coast reggae band The Expendables.

The remainder of the Grizzly Fest lineup will be released over the next few weeks. In all, close to 20 touring, regional and local bands will perform.

Expect a few indie-rock and hip-hop acts, for sure.
