Sounds of Mardi Gras to fill downtown’s DoubleTree hotel
The Fresno Dixieland Society hosts its annual Sounds of Mardi Gras dance and music festival.
The four-day event event, in its 32nd year, is a celebration of Dixieland, a form of traditional jazz from the early 20th century. It features more than a dozen bands, plus dinner and dances, the famous parasol parade and costume party, plus a king and queen coronation. This year’s festival is dedicated to the memory of the late Arthur Drolette.
Details: 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, through Feb. 14 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2233 Ventura St. Tickets start at $15. A three-day pass is $100. 209-534-1924, www.fresnodixie.com
