Cole Fonseca hosts birthday bash at Visalia’s Cellar Door

It’s been a decade since the car accident that left local blues guitarist Cole Fonseca partially paralyzed and questioning his future as a musician. His subsequent comeback (which earned him the nickname Lazarus) meant reinventing himself. For a while, he gave up playing guitar altogether and focused on singing and playing the harmonica. When he did take up the six-string again, he was forced to create his own style of one-handed slide guitar. Fonseca celebrates his 33rd birthday with an all-star birthday bash. The guitarist performs alongside violinist (and longtime Fonseca collaborator) Patrick Contreras and Bay Area songwriter/guitarist Maxx Cabello Jr. Details: 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 at Cellar Door, 101 W. Main St., Visalia. Tickets are $10-$12. 559-6369493, www.snvfoundation.org
