R&B powerhouse Tank plays Sunday, Nov. 29, at Fulton 55. Special to The Bee

Tank is a powerhouse in contemporary R&B.

As a songwriter and producer, the 39-year-old (real name Durrell Babbs) has credits on albums from Aaliyah and Brian McKnight, Jamie Foxx, Kelly Rowland, Ruben Studdard and more.

His own album, 2007’s “Sex, Love & Pain,” was nominated for a Grammy (as was the single “Please Don’t Go”). That same year, the singer joined the R&B super group TGT with Tyrese and Ginuwine. Some were no doubt at the Save Mart Center in 2013 when the group reunited for its Three Kings tour.

Tank is touring on his own in advance of a new album, “Sex, Love and Pain, Pt. 2.” Its first single, “You Don’t Know,” featuring rapper Wale, is out now.
