Hiroshima brings East-meets-West jazz to Tower

Hiroshima helped pioneer world music in the early 1980s with its Asian-influenced smooth jazz. More than 30 years later, the Los Angeles-based ensemble returns to those roots with its 20th album, “Songs with Words,” which features reworkings of the band’s early vocal recordings. The band is touring in support of the album with guest vocalists Terry Steele and Yvette Nii. Details: 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Tower Theatre in Fresno, 815 E.
