Like folk and punk? See gypsy-punk band The Goddamn Gallows at Strummer’s
Depending on whom you ask, The Goddamn Gallows either play “hobocore,” “gypsy punk” or “Americana punk.” Whatever you call it, it’s metal and punk music, played at breakneck speed with traditional folk instrumentation – banjo and upright bass, a washboard and an accordion. The Detroit five-piece is always touring. This time, it’s in support of the band’s fifth studio release, out now on Farmageddon Records. Details: 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Strummer’s, 833 E. Fern. Ave. Tickets are $10. 559-485-5356, www.strummersclub.com
