Christian musician TobyMac announces Save Mart Center concert date

TobyMac’s upcoming tour “Hits Deep.”

That’s the name of his just-announced multi-act arena tour, which sees the Christian musician joined by Britt Nicole, Colton Dixon, Building 429, Capital Kings, Finding Favour and Hollyn.

It’s also an apt description of what audiences can expect from the experience.

“This tour is going to be exactly what most people want to see when they go to a concert – a show where you know every song,” TobyMac says in a news release, announcing dates for the upcoming tour. “Big hits that hit deep! Not just hits because they are sonically a good listen, but because they’ve spoken deeply to our souls.”

The tour kicks off in Feb. 18 in Baton Rouge, La., and will hit 29 cities, including Fresno. It stops Saturday, March 5, at the Save Mart Center.

Tickets for the show are $15-$69.50 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the box office, select Save Mart Supermarkets, online at Ticketmaster.com, or on the phone at 800-745-3000.

TobyMac helped pioneer the Christian rap genre as a member of the seminal ’90s trio dc Talk, before starting his solo career in 1999. That moved proved successful. The musician has won six Grammy Awards and is one of just three Christian artists to debut on Billboard’s Top 200 charts with his 2013 “Eye On It.”

His latest album, “This is Not a Test,” was No. 4 on the Top 200 and No. 3 on the Digital Albums chart when it was released in August.

TobyMac was in town last year, when he performed at The Big Fresno Fair.
