Love ‘yallternative’? Check out Whisky Row at Engelmann Cellars
There was a moment when acoustic country rock was poised to become the official sound of Fresno, thanks in part to the Kerman “yallternative” duo Whisky Row.
The pair – Mike Pereira and Jason Ruffoni – were commissioned by Fresno State to write a theme song for Bulldogs football in 2012 and have opened for everyone from Alabama and Vince Gill, to Sugarland and Aaron Tippin. In 2003, they made noise at Pepsi’s Southern Original competition, where they won the Atlanta regional and performed at the finals of the Gulf Coast Jam in Florida.
For the past two years they have been part of the Country Cruising concert series with Trace Adkins.
Whisky Row brings its full band on Friday, Sept. 4, to Engelmann Cellars.
