Concert news: Puscifer to play Warnors Theatre
In a bit of more good news for local rock fans, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan brings his experimental electro- rock side project, Puscifer, to the Warnors Theatre.
The band announced a six-week North American tour in support of its new album “Money Shot.” The tour stops in Fresno Dec. 6. Tickets are $47.50-$65.50, or $250-$350 for VIP packages, which include the album, T-shirt and other goodies, and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, online or at the theater box office.
Puscifer is known for its odd and intricate live shows. For instance, playing in front of a campfire with a full-sized Airstream trailer as backdrop. But the band has something special for this tour.
“As is the modus operandi of Puscifer, there will be a whole new show to accompany the ‘Money Shot’ release. We’ve been leaving a few clues here and there as to what it may entail,” says Keenan in a release. It might have something to do with the tour opener Luchafer. “As usual, we prefer to show rather than tell. Odds are if you’ve been a fan of the diverse nature of our performances in the past, you’ll want to go ahead and place those bets.”
Keenan was last in town with Tool during a short run of shows last year. While there have been hints that a new Tool album is in the works, the band has been fairly quiet in recent months, aside from announcing a headlining spot at the 2015 Monster Mash festival Halloween night in Tempe, Arizona. Puscifer plays the following night to kick off the “Money Shot” tour.
