One might think that Metalachi was a local band, given the frequency with which they play in the area.

The Los Angeles mariachi meets metal group (known for Mad Max-inspired costumes and over-the-top live shows) seems to show up in Fresno every few months. The band was here in March and returns Friday, July 10, to Fulton 55.

In between, the band was featured on the NBC competition show “America’s Got Talent,” playing a trumpet-and-violin heavy version of Twisted Sister’s classic hit “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” The performance earned them some national recognition and a spot in the next round of competition.
