There’s still time to see ‘Hamilton’ at Fresno’s Saroyan Theatre. Here’s ticket info and more
There was a time when seeing “Hamilton” on stage wasn’t something to be done spur of the moment.
Tickets were hard to come by (and therefor more expensive) when the musical opened on Broadway in 2015 (and also when it reopened there last year, apparently).
Luckily, that’s changed some now that there are touring productions of “Hamilton” on the road and playing in places like Fresno.
“Hamilton” opened its two-week run at the Saroyan Theatre downtown on March 30, pulling in local fans, but also some from as far away as Silicon Valley, according to Twitter.
Friday night’s performance was nearly sold out — there were empty seats, but not many — and positive reviews followed.
So, is there still a chance for you to be in the room where it happens (bit of an inside joke for those who have seen the show)?
According to Ticketmaster.com (the official ticketing site for the performance) on Wednesday morning, there were seats available for all of the remaining seven performances at the Saroyan. The play has evening performances for the next three nights (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) with evening and matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday.
Without looking at secondary ticketing sites, like Stubhub, Saturday’s matinee is down to less than 100, mostly single seats, though there are groups of verified resale tickets available through Ticketmaster. Sunday’s matinee is somewhat better, with a smattering of tickets available in the orchestra’s middle section.
Those tickets are $199 plus fees.
There is still plenty of availability for the Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday night performances, especially in the upper balcony. Those tickets, high and at the back of the theater, are selling for $49 plus fees on Ticketmaster. Tickets throughout the rest of theater cost anywhere $69.50 to $179.50 for premium orchestra seating.
Anticipating the popularity of the show, a number of $10 tickets were made available through a lottery system.
This week’s have already been announced via the “Hamilton” App.
Those attending should be prepared to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative testing. Face masks are also required though the performance. You will be reminded.
