Kottonmouth Kings are riding high (pun totally intended) on the trend toward the legalization of marijuana.

Of course, the band has played weed-inspired hip-hop punk rock long before it had a term (pot-rock) or its own radio-station format (in Colorado, obviously). Over the years, Kottonmouth Kings cultivated a largely underground fan base with more than a dozen albums. Its latest, “Krown Power,” is scheduled for release in August. The single “Ganja Glow” is out now. The band also received a Golden Lung Freedom Fighter award the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws and was named “High Times” magazine’s Stoner Band of the Year in 2006.

Kottonmouth Kings is in town on its “Family Reunion” tour with HedPE, The Family Ruin, Scare Don’t Fear, Marlon Asher, C4 and Nicky Gritts.
