Bernie Sanders dines at Tacos Tijuana in Fresno
Where do presidential candidates eat in Fresno? If you’re Bernie Sanders, at local restaurant Tacos Tijuana.
Tacos Tijuana posted this picture on its Facebook page of Sanders greeting diners at a crowded restaurant (which may have been crowded because Sanders’ entourage of press people and Secret Service agents who travel with him were there). A customer snapped this photo posted on Yelp.com of Sanders sitting down after a long day of campaigning in Fresno and Visalia Sunday.
The restaurant isn’t some fancy north Fresno restaurant, but a little taco place with blue and white umbrellas at 3838 E. Ventura Ave. near Ninth Street. None of the workers who saw Sanders was were working today to talk to us about his visit.
But on Facebook the restaurant reported that Sanders had a healthy No. 11 chicken platter, which includes grilled chicken breast, rice, beans and avocado on the side.
Tacos Tijuana, by the way, gets great reviews on Yelp.com – four stars out of five. Yelpers rave about the carne asada tacos.
