Shoppers and treasure hunters, this weekend is a good time to shop.

I’m not talking about Memorial Day sales (that’s not what the holiday is about) but a couple of events that happen to fall on this weekend.

The Terrace Avenue Block Sale is Saturday, May 28. It’s the oldest and one of the biggest block sales in the Fresno High neighborhood, and generally runs from Farris to Wishon avenues. Families host yard sales in their front yards and food vendors usually plenty to nosh on.

Glorious Junk Days (actually one day, but who’s counting) is Sunday, May 29. This is the popular event on Pollasky Avenue in Old Town Clovis with more than 155 vendors that sells vintage items, collectibles, DIY projects that are already done for you, painted furniture and other good stuff. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free.
