Fresno Beehive

A TV food show visited The Big Fresno Fair last year. Which crazy foods made the cut?

For the locals, The Big Fresno Fair has long been known for its yearly additions to the city’s culinary foodscape – see deep fried butter, the Cotton Candy Burrito or the Buffalo Chicken Chimichanga rolled in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos crumbles.

Now, the fair is getting some national attention, thanks to the food/travel show “Carnival Eats.”

The Fresno Fair will be featured in two episodes of “Carnival Eats” this season on the Cooking Channel.

The first episode – which features fair-goers sampling and reviewing Chicken Charlie’s Flamin’ Hot Chimichanga, along with Rainbow Shrimp Fries from Sharky’s Fish Fry – next airs 8 p.m. June 18.

The second episode airs 9 p.m. June 21.

Host Noah Cappe and his crew spent four days at the fair last year filming for the show, which features carnival and fair foods from around the U.S. and Canada.

“Carnival Eats” is in its eighth season.
