Video diaries: San Joaquin Valley singing, dancing its way through the coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic has upended daily life in the central San Joaquin Valley and around the world.

Things we may have taken for granted – the birthday parties and Easter celebrations, a trip to the barber for a trim, school work – have all been transformed or put on hold as we are all being asked to stay at home.

We asked readers to share videos showing how things have changed for them, and just what they are doing while they shelter-in-place. What we got back was inspiring and a bit silly – whether it’s setting aside that haircut money and restaurant tips to give back once this is all over or staging a song-and-dance routine.

Oh, yes, there’s much dancing, it seems; dancing on the sidewalks, dancing in the living room, dancing with pets.

Thanks for reading and watching and sharing, San Joaquin Valley. We’ll see you on the other side.
