Princesses and pirates take over Fresno’s Storyland for a fairy tale costume ball. This is the fairy tale themed amusement park’s first event since its grand reopening last month. Storyland failed to open this spring and was re-imagined with a new board of directors and business model, which includes such themed events. Children (and their parents) are encouraged to dress as their favorite story-book characters (princesses and pirates will be popular, no doubt) for a night of dancing, music and entertainment. Proceeds will help the park in the second phase of its reformation, which included the reopening of the neighboring Playland in April. Details: 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, Storyland, 890 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets: $10, adults, $8 for children, 559-486-2124, www.savestoryland.com.
