Netflix Has a Stars Hollow Category After Losing 'Gilmore Girls'
The Gilmore Girls fandom grew while it was available to stream on Netflix. The platform managed to bring back the cast to release four new episodes with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in 2016.
Sadly, the original show leaves Netflix on June 30. But there is a category of shows that will be available that claims to be similar to the hit show.
Netflix Shows Similar to 'Gilmore Girls'
Gilmore Girls follows Lorelai (Lauren Graham) raising Rory (Alexis Bledel) in a small town called Stars Hollow. She agrees to have weekly family dinners with her estranged parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Hermann), in exchange for them paying for Rory's private school tuition.
Netflix is known for suggesting more shows and movies based on what you've already watched. There is a category called, "That Stars Hollow State of Mind" with TV shows that the platform believes are similar to the sitcom.
The shows in the category are:
Dawson's Creek
Virgin River
Grey's Anatomy
Running Point
Young Sheldon
Anne With An "E"
Sullivan's Crossing
My Life With the Walter Boys
Atypical
Nashivlle
Nobody Wants This
Scandal
Ginny & Georgia
Mom
Emily In Paris
Never Have I Ever
Rizzoli & Isles
Gossip Girl
Heartland
Veronica Mars
Younger
One Day
Firefly Lane
DOC
Mike & Molly
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life
North of North
From Scratch
Ransom Canyon
Suburgatory
What I Like About You
Touched By An Angel
Leanne
Love
Some of the shows unsurprisingly, focus on a mother and daughter, or two strong women. North of North focuses on a young Inuk mother who was raised by a single mother. What I Like About You focuses on two sisters living together. Ginny & Georgia was marketed to be similar to the Gilmore Girls except the mother and daughter have a murderous past.
Other shows are more focused on young romance, such as Dawson's Creek, Gossip Girl, and Never Have I Ever. But other titles fit because of their snappy comedy like Mike & Molly, Atypical, and Young Sheldon.

How to Watch 'Gilmore Girls'
Fans of the WB show can still stream it in other ways. Gilmore Girls will be available on Disney+ and Hulu. However, this is a major change for Netflix subscribers and they're making it known that they're not happy.
Netflix's Instagram account shared a clip of Outlast: The Jungle. The comments are about the sitcom instead of the reality show.
"Netflix I know you reading these comments , bring back Gilmore [Girls] or you're losing a very good paying customer," a most-liked comment reads.
"No more Gilmore Girls or Seinfeld? Those are the only reasons I subscribed," another person wrote.
"Bye bye, [Reba] now [Gilmore Girls]. Seriously what are you doing??? Already unsubscribed," a commenter complained.
