Olivia Rodrigo's Mom Missed Her Lollapalooza Set to Watch Korn Instead

Olivia Rodrigo is a major pop star, but her mom is actually more of a rock chick. Well, that’s not a huge surprise, since Rodrigo has gushed a bunch over rocker Jack White before. But, this story shows that her mom is a bigger rocker than her.

The singer appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday, June 10, and said that her mom actually missed her headlining set at Lollapalooza to see Korn. They were scheduled the same time.

“My mom likes so many crazy metal bands,” Rodrigo said on the show.

It happened when Rodrigo headlined Lollapalooza in 2025, her set was in conflict with Korn’s, which was probably on purpose, because they don’t share the same fanbase. Most Korn fans wouldn’t have interest in watching Rodrigo, and the same is true on the other hand.

Rodrigo said on the show that she also thought this was a smart move, since they don’t share the same audience. “Everyone’s, like, ‘Oh, that’s perfect!'” Rodrigo exclaimed on the show. “The Olivia fans will see go see Olivia, the Korn fans will go see Korn, there’s really no overlap.”

But, well, her mom wanted to see Korn. In her defense, Korn is pretty awesome live. I’ve seen them live a bunch.

“But there was one overlap,” she said. “It was my mom. My mom, my mom skipped my show to go see Korn.” Rodrigo also said that she told her mom she could totally go see Korn instead.

“I’m happy she got her night,” Rodrigo said. Do we see a Korn and Rodrigo collaboration in the future? Her mom would love it.
