JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON Brings Vampire Survivors Creators to the World of Cursed Spirits
The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is expanding into video games once again, but this time with a very different approach. During the June 2026 Nintendo Direct presentation, Shueisha Games and developer poncle officially announced JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON, a new multiplayer action game based on Gege Akutami's hugely successful manga and anime series. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
One of the most notable aspects of the project is the studio behind it. Poncle is best known as the creator of Vampire Survivors, one of the most influential indie hits of recent years. For RUMBLE: SURVIVATON, the developer is bringing its expertise to the Jujutsu Kaisen universe while introducing what it describes as a new take on the genre.
The game is described as a "survivors royale," combining elements of survival gameplay with player competition. As matches progress, participants fight increasingly dangerous enemies while improving their abilities and equipment. Players must balance defeating Cursed Spirits with keeping pace against their human rivals, all while trying to become the last person standing.
Up to Eight Players Online
One of the major features revealed so far is online multiplayer support for up to eight players. While players can also enjoy the game alone through a single-player mode, the multiplayer component appears to be a central part of the experience. Official descriptions emphasize direct competition between participants as they battle through escalating waves of enemies and race toward the final stages of a match.
As players defeat enemies, they will be able to strengthen their characters, unlock upgrades, customize equipment, and gain access to effects that can alter the rules of the match. The developers have stated that these systems are designed to create unique runs and encourage experimentation throughout each session.
At the moment, many details remain unknown. Shueisha Games has not announced a specific release date beyond 2026, nor has the full playable roster been revealed. Even so, the combination of Jujutsu Kaisen's popular cast, large-scale battles against Cursed Spirits, and poncle's experience with survival-focused gameplay has already made JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON one of the more unusual anime game announcements of the year.
