Look: 'Diarra from Detroit' Season 2 gets photo, July premiere date
June 10 (UPI) --Diarra from Detroit will return for a second season in July.
Paramount+ shared a first-look photo and July 29 premiere date for Season 2 on Wednesday.
Diarra from Detroit is a comedy-drama series created, written, executive produced by and starring Diarra Kilpatrick. The show follows Diarra Brickland (Kilpatrick), a detective who investigates mysteries in Detroit.
"This time around, what starts as a seemingly harmless furniture recovery mission quickly spirals into a triple homicide investigation, a citywide treasure hunt and another trip deep into Detroit's criminal underbelly," an official synopsis reads.
"As Diarra attempts to sort out her messy relationship status, she instead finds herself going undercover with a secret society, starring in a Tubi movie, chasing urban legends, dodging gang warfare, and uncovering secrets buried beneath the city itself. Because of course she does."
The cast also includes DomiNque Perry, Bryan Terrell Clark, Jon Chaffin, Shannon Wallace, Phylicia Rashad and Harry Lennix. Method Man, Morris Chestnut, Bokeem Woodbine, Amber Riley, Lil Rel Howery and more will appear as Season 2 guest stars.
Season 2 will have a two-episode premiere July 29, with subsequent episodes to be released weekly on Wednesdays.
