'Boy Meets World' Stars Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle Explain Falling Out with Co-Star Ben Savage
Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle are finally breaking their silence on the complicated relationship they hold with former co-star Ben Savage.
According to People magazine, Savage has reportedly refused to speak with his ex-cast mates since 2020, with Fishel, Friedle and Rider Strong recalling that the 45-year-old ghosted them when they invited him to join their podcast, Pod Meets World.
As part of the new documentary, Doc Meets World, the co-stars opened about the difficult relationship they hold with Savage, something that only hits harder every time they revisit an old episode of Boy Meets World for their podcast.
"It's been hard," Friedle explained to People. "I mean, just today, literally we were recording an episode this morning of Pod Meets World and there came a question that we all wanted to know, that we know if Ben had been on with us, it would have been answered like that and we would have heard a great story."
"There's so many times I want to pick up the phone and still do. I know I'm shouting into the void, but I'm going to keep doing it," the 49-year-old continued. "I haven't given up on my friend. And I'm hoping that he comes back into our lives at some point, and when he does, we're going to have a lot to talk about."
Fishel, meanwhile, explained that she loved picturing her former co-star as a family man embracing his role as a father, with Savage having welcomed a baby girl into his life in late 2025 with his wife, Tessa Angermeier.
"I love imagining him in this new chapter of his life as a dad," Fishel said. "I know he has had a baby girl. He's now a husband. So I love just thinking about him [in that capacity]."
"We talked a lot about how he looked forward to being a dad someday," she continued. "So I like imagining this phase of life that he's in now. And it makes me sad sometimes when I think about the fact that I would love to just know, like, 'How's it going? What's happening now? What are the milestones that are being checked off?'"
