North America's Largest Extreme Metal Festival Announces 2027 Update
Following the success of the recent event, Maryland Deathfest announced the first wave of artists and bands participating in the 2027 lineup.
Dubbed the largest extreme metal festival in North America, it will not only feature a star-studded lineup of metal heavyweights but also musicians and artists from international scenes including Japan, Sweden, Spain, Ireland and more.
In an Instagram update, the list of upcoming performers includes 23 acts, including some of the genre's cult-favorite, most celebrated and career-defining artists who are set to take the stage for high-octane shows.
Following the announcement of the first wave of artists, organizers promised to reveal 70 additional bands, with more to be announced in the coming months.
The multi-day event will take place from May 27 to 30 in Baltimore, with early-bird tickets officially going on sale on June 3.

Maryland Deathfest 2026 Highlights
The announcement came after Maryland Deathfest wrapped up its 2026 schedule, which took place from May 21 to 24 in downtown Baltimore.
The four-day event was attended by an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 attendees per day.
For the pre-fest, the U.K. grindcore legends Napalm Death and Repulsion were the headliners.
The Thursday lineup was headlined by Solitude Aeturnus on the Power Plant Live stage, Bongzilla at the Nevermore Hall and the Finnish death metal band Torsofuck at the Baltimore Soundstage.
Old Man's Child, The Crown, Oranssi Pazuzu and Lividity were Friday headliners, while Kreator, Sinister, 1914 and Rotten Sound were on Saturday.
Concluding the annual event, Sarcófago, Dying Fetus, Batushka and Cephalic Carnage served as headliners.
Death metal legends Destruction took to social media to express their gratitude for the overwhelming support and the "insane" crowd following the festival.
"Maryland Deathfest 2026 has come to an end. It was an amazing experience to be here once again… The crowd was insane. Till next time!" the post reads.
