Rock-Paper-Scissors Roguelite Handmancer Gets Major Early Access Update on Steam

Developer 58 BLADES and publisher Human Qube Games have officially released the first major early access update for Handmancers, the rock-paper-scissors roguelite deckbuilder. The update arrived just a couple of weeks after the game launched in early access to 'Very Positive' reception on Steam.

Handmancers is a roguelite deckbuilder that uses rock-paper-scissors-inspired combat to build synergies through gems, artifacts, and strategic deck manipulation.

The new patch was allegedly built around player feedback that was gathered at launch, and introduces a ton of new improvements to just about every aspect of the game. Think gameplay balance, combat clarity, progression systems, and more.

Of course, the most requested feature, multiple save slots, has not been implemented. Quality-of-life changes should also be expected, including faster loading times, a new cutscene skip option, and even improved readability in combat.

There are now clearer action responses and distinct visuals to better communicate how battles are more likely to end. The game's SPRINT mechanic also now changes how CRAMP effects function. Boss encounters have also improved presentation and better transitions after wins.

Handmancers is available on Steam in early access.
