Ariana Grande Is Already in Love With Her New Single

Ariana Grande is back and ready to offer more of her heartfelt music to the masses.

On Friday, May 29, Grande debuted the first single from her upcoming album, “petal,” a soft pop song called “hate that i made you love me.” As with many great songs, the lyrics could be taken different ways.

In one way, the song could be about a romantic relationship, but it could also be taken as a track about haters, the public or fans who feel like they know Grande when they don’t. Musically, this song is easy to listen to and a softer ballad that still has a bit of that trap edge in the beat with Grande’s soothing vocals.

“I’ve held your projections when you’ve felt so insecure/ Tell me, why is it this way?/ Why you so hate to see women endure?” she sings in the song.

This song means something special to Grande. In a message shared on her Instagram Story, Ariana called the song as “one of my favorite songs I’ll ever give to you … the greatest fans in the entire world and i am simply feeeeeeling it my goodness my heart.”

She added: “I’m so grateful for all of the art, moments, songs we have shared. I can’t wait for more always and for you to meet petal.”

While the song is already out, the video is still on the way. That will drop Monday at 11 a.m. ET. The full album arrives on July 31.
