Who Won ‘Jeopardy' Today? (May 15, 2026) Plus, the Final Jeopardy Answer

There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.

What was Final Jeopardy today?

Final Jeopardy today was in the category "PLAY CHARACTERS"

The clue: "This title character of an 1890 play is often called 'the female Hamlet'"

The answer: "Who is Hedda Gabler?"

It was a tight Double Jeopardy race between Williams and Griffith, who came into FJ with $18,900 and $12,800, respectively. Williams' wager of $6,701 was a classic strategic play, enough to cover a correct response from Griffith (who would have had a maximum of $25,600 if he wagered everything and answered correctly).

In the end, Williams was the only one to get it right, for a final score of $25,601, while Griffith wagered $8,000, got it wrong, and dropped to $4,899. Meanwhile, Fulton's pre-FJ score was $600, with a near-total wager of $599, and a final answer later, she walked away with $1.

Williams will be back again on Monday for his ninth go-around.
