‘Baywatch' Alum David Charvet, 53, and His Lookalike Son Shaya Show off Their Matching Six-Pack Abs

David Charvet, who rose to stardom in the '90s on Baywatch, has the ultimate gym buddy in his son, Shaya.

The former actor, 53, was born and raised in France before heading stateside and taking Hollywood by storm. It was his role as the handsome high schooler Matt Brody on Baywatch that catapulted him to superstardom and made him a household name among young women who loved his hair flip and washboard abs. After departing Baywatch, Charvet headed to Melrose Place and also pursued a music career, having success on the charts in his native country.

These days, Charvet is a dedicated dad and loves to hang out at the gym with Shaya. A fitness professional who recently launched BUILD, a weight-lifting program that uses LED light and heated infrared technology, Shaya and his dad showed off their matching six-pack abs on Instagram earlier this week.

Charvet Has So Much Love for His Mom

While David eventually ditched the entertainment industry, he never forgot where he came from. The handsome former actor always takes to Instagram to honor his mother with a sweet post for her birthday. Charvet looked more handsome than ever as he snuggled up to his mom for his annual photo alongside her.

"My Mom @christianeartt the most beautiful woman in the world . I owe you everything that I am . Happy 85th birthday you are a star , a bad ass! I love you more than words . Thank you for giving me all@the tools to better man and a better Dad! ❤️❤️❤️," he captioned the sweet photo, which showed the star in a white tank with his arms around his other.

What is David Charvet Up to These Days?

During the show's heyday, Charvet dated co-star Pamela Anderson, who played lifeguard C.J. Parker. He went on to marry Brooke Burke, who is the mother of his children, Heaven, 19, and Shaya. However, the couple divorced in 2020.

While Charvet made headlines as an actor, life in front of the camera doesn't interest him all that much anymore. He pivoted to working for a residential contractor, The Jones Builders Group, and hasn't looked back.

"To wake up every morning early, to be able to be the first face that my kids would see has been a blessing," Charvet explained to Fox News in 2022. "And I did it. People to this day ask me, ‘How come you have such a great relationship with your children?' And I said to them, ‘… I put the time in.'"
